President Donald Trump reiterated that billionaire Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have a good relationship after"Saturday Night Live" mocked the two in its cold open.

Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that a cabinet meeting descended into a shouting match between cabinet secretaries and Musk, with Rubio described as incensed by the newspaper.

Trump disputed the reporting in a Truth Social post on Sunday in which he doubled down on previous claims about Musk and Rubio's amicable relationship: "ELON AND MARCO HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP. ANY STATEMENT OTHER THAN THAT IS FAKE NEWS!!! DJT"

Trump previously dismissed reports of Musk and Rubio's clash, calling a reporter who asked about their relationship a "troublemaker."

The Thursday meeting, during which transportation secretary Sean Duffy reportedly complained that DOGE staffers were trying to fire air traffic controllers amidst a rash of plane crashes, was roundly mocked during the roughly six-minute sketch.

"Now look, I can't have you two at each other's throats, ok," said James Austin Johnson as Trump. "After all, I have a perfect record; everyone who has ever worked for me has left on good terms and then gone on to write a book called 'The man who ruined everything.'"

"If you're going to insult each other, at least make them good, okay?" James continued. "Something like Elon, 'How do you have 20 kids, but I've never seen you with a chick, just dudes named 'donkey dong' and 'boner king?'... And here watch this, 'Marco, short and gay,' classy."

The Times reported that the argument between Rubio and Musk went on for a "uncomfortable time," with Trump finally interceding. Trump reportedly said that Rubio was "doing a great job."
