The race for the White House remains a toss up, with both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump being virtually tied in the polls. Now, the campaign cycle coming to a close, the Trump team is preparing staff members for either outcome after Nov. 5.

On the campaign trail, Trump himself is painting nothing but positive outcomes in his direction, continuing to spew baseless claims that the only scenario in which he loses, is if the race is stolen from him.

Trump and his Republican allies have ramped up litigation as well as their rhetoric ahead of Election Day, particularly, over the threat of noncitizen voting, CNN reports. The GOP nominee, specifically, has claimed without evidence that Democrats are trying to allow non-citizens to vote.

"Our elections are bad, and a lot of these illegal immigrants coming in, they're trying to get them to vote," Trump said at the September presidential debate. "They can't even speak English. They don't even know what country they're in practically. And these people are trying to get them to vote."

But despite his public narrative, internally, the Trump campaign is preparing staff members to wind down the operation while also offering a clear-eyed view of what could happen in this coin-flip contest, Axios report.

The news came after the Trump campaign reportedly sent an internal email, outlining their post-election plans. Most notably, as Trump continues to refuse to answer whether he would concede the election if necessary, the email sent by co-campaign manager Susie Wiles uses phrases like "should we be victorious," "regardless of the outcome" and "God willing," a sign that they acknowledge the former President may or may not win the contest, according to Axios.

The email overall focused on the logistics of the campaign apparatus post-Nov. 5. For instance, the message details how "regardless" of the outcome, employees will be on the payroll until Nov. 30, and "in the event President Trump and Senator [JD] Vance are elected," many campaign staffers will be assigned to either "the official Trump-Vance Transition, or the Presidential Inaugural Committee."

Wiles also writes that the Trump campaign headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, will be reconfigured for the transition and inaugural teams, "God willing."

Axios' report also comes as both campaigns make the final push during Election Day eve, making one last closing statement to undecided voters in battleground states.

Trump will hold two afternoon rallies in Pennsylvania, following a morning event in North Carolina. In keeping with his previous runs for the White House, he will also hold his last rally in Michigan.

As per Harris, her closing messages will focus on Pennsylvania, where she is scheduled to make four appearances on Monday, starting in the early afternoon and concluding in the evening. She will finish in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with a star-studded supporting cast in each venue, including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey.
