President Donald Trump and Elon Musk capped their weekend trip to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach with a return trip to Washington Sunday on the taxpayer-funded Marine One aircraft, reserved for the U.S. president.
"This is beyond outrageous. Elon Musk, his cranky mother Maye, and one of his young kids were chauffeured in Air Force One and Marine One—straight to the White House, where they're apparently staying," Chris D. Jackson, a strategist and commentator, wrote in an x post shared Sunday.
"WTF is going on? It goes without saying, this is not normal," he added.

"So now Air Force One is an Uber and the White House is an Airbnb," one X user commented. "Great. Just great," she added.
Musk has reportedly been sleeping at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE's) headquarters located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to "maximize governmental efficiency and productivity."

Great. Just great.
"All these replies about the family and friends of past presidents as if they are in any way similar to this unelected broligarch shadow president that's become a little too comfortable wasting taxpayer money all while he takes it away from starving children and cancer research," @homemadehooplah added in a follow-up remark after some X users defended Musk and his family's use of the aircraft.

Since Trump was inaugurated in January, Musk's DOGE has made drastic cuts to federal funding and the federal workforce to curb wasteful spending and fraud. The Tesla CEO has continued, however, to award himself federal contracts, including an agreement potentially worth $400 million.
Most recently, during an appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, the world's richest man called social security benefits "the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time," drawing bipartisan ire from politicians and Americans alike.
"Musk says there's massive waste & fraud in Social Security. Not true. Musk says Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. Not true," Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders wrote in an X post on Sunday. "What is the goal of this disinformation campaign? To privatize the most successful government program in history and give it over to Wall Street."
