Last month, a number of leaked photos from the set of "Top Gear" Season 22 revealed that our favorite trio of petrolheads were having a busy time shooting exciting programs in Argentina, Italy, Russia, and more. As far as we know, BBC has yet to confirm the release date of "Top Gear" Season 22. However, that's not the only thing that Top Gear BBC has been busy with. However, a tweet from Jeremy Clarkson did announce that the upcoming season is expected to air in January.
The official Top Gear website has announced that an all-new "Top Gear" special titled "The Perfect Road Trip 2" is slated to arrive on Monday, Nov. 17. As the title suggests, the crew at Top Gear have attempted to film the "Perfect Road Trip" once before. However, at some point during their journey from Venice, Italy, to Pau, France last year, a speeding ticket and a driving ban definitely put a major damper to the spirits.
In BBC Top Gear fashion, the undeterred presenters are now prepared to have another go at having fun with some awesome cars and amazing ribbons of tarmac. So far, Top Gear has released a handful of behind-the-scene videos that were captured during the shooting for the latest "Top Gear" special.
In the upcoming "Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip 2," Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond will be driving the new Lamborghini Huracan and the McLaren 650S, they will take the McLaren P1 on a wine tasting tour, they will pit two sloppy Faux-rarris (fake Ferraris) in a race, and they will take the seriously quick BMW M4 and Jaguar F-Type onto the track for a race against the Stig.
Of all the awesome segments in the upcoming "Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip 2," we're definitely most excited to see the the race between Clarkson, Hammond and the Stig. During one of the corners into a straightaway, Hammond dips the left rear wheel of his powerful Jaguar F-Type coupe and gets himself into some serious trouble when the car lost controlled and slammed into a tire barrier. Thankfully, Richard Hammond got off with only a bruise to his ego, but the poor Jaguar F-Type was a complele mess. Be sure to watch the new "Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip 2" trailer in the video below.
