Are we approaching the halfway point of the 2015 "Top Gear" season? "Top Gear" Season 22 episode 6 airs Sunday, March 1! Last episode, Richard Hammond got behind the wheel of the all-American Chevy Corvette Stingray. At just a couple grand over 60,000 GBP, the Stingray actually comes off rather affordably compared to the European sports car offerings. In fact, the sports car that comes closest to the Corvette's price point isn't the 911, but the junior Cayman GTS. Ultimately, the Stig set a time for both cars along the Top Gear test track and the Corvette utterly embarrassed respectable Cayman GTS.
Next, after Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson had driven the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1, it was finally James May's turn to drivs the LaFerrari. Obviously, May savored the experience. However, the question remains: who is fastest? Unfortunately, Ferrari refused to conduct the comparison with customer cars. On the other hand, McLaren refused to conduct the comparison if the vehicles were issued by the automaker, It's a stalemate and rather disappointing.
This week, James May and Jeremy Clarkson must respond to an emergency distress signal, "Top Gear" found sudden interest in a state-of-the-art adventurers watch that features a built-in GPS capable of sending out an SOS to summon help from anywhere in the world. To test this technology, "Top Gear" gave the watch to Richard Hammond and threw him into the frozen Canadian tundra. Now it is up to May and Clarkson in a SVT Hennessey Velociraptor and a Chevy pick-up truck to reach their pal.
