We know Marvel hero Wolverine can extend his retractable claws in a fraction of a second, but how fast can he lap the Top Gear test track? Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car for the upcoming Top Gear Season 20 episode 4.
Top gear introduced its Vauxhall Astra , the new reasonably priced car this season, and has already invited a number of celebrities to have a go in the hatch. Celebrities include Brian Johnson of AC/DC, English stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr, former WBA heavyweight champion Davide Haye, "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter" actor Warwick Davis, English presenter Rachel Riley, actor Charles Dance who plays Tywin Lannister from the "Game of Thrones," singer Joss Stone, musician Mike Rutherford, and Hollywood director Ron Howard.
So far, rocker Brian Johnson is at the top of the leaderboard with a rapid 1 minute 45.1 second lap time, nearly 4 seconds quicker than the time he set in the retired reasonably priced car, the Chevrolet Lacetti.
According to UK's the Daily Mail, Hugh Jackman demonstrated his fine taste in proper sports cars when he appeared at the "Wolverine" London premiere in a sleek Audi R8. We hope this bodes well for Jackson's performance in the Vauxhall Astra, despite possessing only a third of the power output of the razor sharp Audi.
In preparation for "Wolverine," Hugh Jackman revealed to the Mail that he participated in a very strict diet and workout regime in order to transform himself into the mutant superhero.
"Part of the bulking-up was to make me look squatter – more Mike Tyson than Hugh Jackman," explained Jackman. The actor gained a total of 25 lbs in muscle mass as a result.
"It’s not good for me to eat 6,000 calories a day. I have to eat a dozen eggs every day. I worry I’ll have a heart attack."
There's no point in worrying, Mr. Hugh Jackman. If the dozen eggs don't give you a heart attack, the Vauxhall Astra will.
