A mother’s concern over the injuries suffered by her child led to the arrest of 45-year-old Graham Marsden. The resident of Hull, United Kingdom was found to be in possession of pornographic images of children on a device kept in his bedstand.

Following the discovery, it was found that he had been accused of sexually assaulting a girl back in 2014. However, he evaded punishment. Hull Crown Court sentenced him for nine sexual offenses against children.

An unnamed toddler’s mother found a sore red area on the child’s body. She took immediate action to determine if her child had been abused by someone. The toddler was able to show on a doll what the accused had done to her. She was able to point out the suspect who was arrested by the police.

During a search of the suspect’s Dodthorpe, Orchard Park home police found further incriminating evidence. The pedophile has a device on which he possesses around 13,000 pieces of pornographic images of children. Some of the images on the device were that of the man sexually assaulting the toddler. Hull Live reported that investigators also found the accused’s DNA was on the abuse victim’s pants.

While facing charges for assault on the toddler and possession of child pornography, the court was informed of an incident from 2014. An older girl had accused Marsden of sexually abusing her. The girl had reportedly been abused over a span of two years before she reported the assault.

However, the young girl was forced to withdraw her allegation. She felt pressured into withdrawing the allegation after the accused branded her a liar. Due to the girl’s decision of not seeking judicial remedy the pedophile was allowed to walk free, the Daily Star reported. It is not known if he has abused more children aside from his two known victims.

Making a note of the past incident, on Monday, March 29 the court sentenced the accused for the nine sexual offenses he was charged with. The offenses included four counts of sexual assault, one count of making indecent images of children and three counts of making indecent images of children, as well as the rape of a child under the age of 13.

He has to serve up to 17 years in prison without a chance of parole. After serving the time his sentence can be extended by three more years if he is deemed to be a danger to the public. He will be registered as a sex offender for life. Upon release, he will have to adhere to the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life.
