San Antonio Spurs star center Tim Duncan has reportedly asked a Texas judge to postpone further proceedings on a divorce between him and his wife Amy until the NBA playoffs are over. The San Antonio Express has obtained documents filed in Bexar County District Court last week which name the two parties by their initials and contain the petition that a legal decision be postponed until after the Spurs' last playoff game. Amy and Tim Duncan, 35 and 37, respectively, are college sweethearts. She was a cheerleader at Wake Forest University, where the 6'11 big man starred. Local television station KSAT reports the couple cited "discord and conflict" as reasons for their divorce.
TMZ, which says it has obtained the papers as well, writes that the Spurs' center requested the delay because the playoffs are "currently making extraordinary demands on him and hopefully will continue to make those demands for the next 30 or so days."

The veracity of the Express' story has not been confirmed by the Duncans, but details from the documents about the two parties involved align with what is known about the couple and their two children. The style of the case is A.S.D. vs. T.T.D. Tim Duncan's middle name is Theodore. The given marriage date of July 21, 2001, coincides with the Duncans' nuptial date. Two children are listed as having been born to the two parties, with initials and birth dates which in the case of the oldest match up (the initials of the youngest align as well, but a birth date could not be determined).
Duncan and his San Antonio Spurs lead the Memphis Grizzlies 2-0 in the Western Conference finals, with Game 3 of the best-of-seven series scheduled for today. The NBA Finals will conclude, at the latest, on June 20.
On Thursday the NBA announced the 15 members of the All-NBA team. Tim Duncan was named on the first team along with Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Chris Paul. It was the first time he had been named to the team since 2007, the year the Spurs last won a championship.
