Thornton High School in Colorado has been place on lockdown after a gunman was allegedly near the school. Police entered Thornton High School, which is located in northern Denver after a man was reported outside of the school with a rifle.
Everyone is safe, as police reveal that no injuries occurred and reportedly no gunshots were fired. Students left Thornton High School calmly, lead single file by police, while they held hands. The 2,000 students of the Colorado high school boarded buses, with an officer posted at each bus.
The Associated Press reported authorities planned to bus the students to a nearby bus park-and-ride lot and told parents to meet their children there. Police cars surrounded the school and armed officers were visible.
Sadie Gurman, a reporter for the Denver Post, tweeted that the high school was on its last day of finals and that the police have not yet been able to confirm the report of a gunman near campus.
