Two Houston-area teens have been committing robberies by entrapping their victims using Facebook marketplace, listing fake items, or making false offers on other listings only to steal from the people they then meet up with.
On Thursday night, 22-year-old Po Lo was allegedly robbed by 17-year-old Arlando Lyles and 18-year-old Christian Pickett.
Lo described how Lyles allegedly aimed a gun at his chest while the pair robbed him.
"It was a pistol with an extender," said Lo in an interview with KHOU. "It scared the heck out of me."
"When the detective showed me the pictures, I knew it was him," said Lo. "When I saw his face, I was like "wait a minute, this is him right here," Lo said of Lyles.
According to the Houston Police, the pair are linked to at least 15 crimes occurring mostly on the south side of Houston, occurring since the end of September this year.
Lo confirmed that he met up with the two in order to purchase an item they had listed on Facebook.
"I was buying something, a PS5," said Lo.
He met them at an apartment complex by Cullen Boulevard after dark. Upon meeting, the duo robbed Lo.
"He didn't say nothing, he didn't say, 'Hey, give me your money,'" said Lo. "He just quickly pulled out a gun and pointed at me and I gave him the money and he left."
Lo, who is originally from Myanmar and works as an EMT, reported the crime to authorities despite almost deciding not to do so.
"I'm just glad I'm safe and wasn't harmed or anything like that," said Lo.
