Telenovelas are the favorite form of entertainment throughout Latino households. We grew up watching these melodramas on television and we can even quote the cliché dialogue they use over and over again. What we love about these soaps is that they are not endless, they have a beginning and an end. This year we are excited for three telenovelas that are already in the works starring Aracely Arámbula, Angelique Boyer and Iván Sánchez. They are not all in it together (although that would've been brilliant), but they are leading in each of their respective productions.
Aracely Arámbula is set to star in "La Doña," later this year on Telemundo. The telenovela is a remake of "Doña Bárbara" that Edith Gonzalez starred in a couple years ago and that María Félix did in cinema. Now the star of soaps like "La Patrona" and "Soñadoras" is back in the leading character. Although, we don't know who the rest of the cast is, we are sure we will be glued to our screens throughout the journey. After starring in "Lo Imperdonable," Iván Sánchez is back in "Yago." This telenovela is set to premiere in May on Univision, following the "Pasión y Poder" finale. The production is an adaptation of the Turkish drama "Ezel," which in turn is loosely based on "The Count of Montecristo."
"Yago" is set to be full of suspense and drama and we can't wait until it airs. The cast announced for this series include Gaby De La Garza ("Las Aparicio"), Flavio Medina ("Yo No Creo En Los Hombres"), Pablo Valentín ("Antes Muerta Que Lichita"), Ximena Romo ("El Color De La Pasión"), Jade Fraser ("Hasta El Fin Del Mundo"), Sophie Alexander Katz ("Para Volver A Amar"), Patricio Castillo ("Mentir Para Vivir") and many more.
Lastly, the telenovela we are most awaiting this year is "Tres Veces Ana" that will reunite the "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" stars (and real life couple) Angelique Boyer and Sebastián Rulli. “Tres Veces Ana" is the story of triplets that become orphan after an accident. One of them gets lost and doesn't reunite with them until years later. Also starring in this melodrama based on "Lazos De Amor" are: Pedro Moreno ("Amor De Barrio"), Susana Dosamantes ("Marina"), Otto Sirgo ("Niña... Amada Mía"), Ana Bertha Espín ("Lo Que La Vida Me Robó"), Olivia Bucio ("Hasta El Fin Del Mundo"), Nuria Bages ("Porque El Amor Manda"), Leticia Calderón ("A Que No Me Dejas"), Laisha Wilkins ("Que Te Perdone Dios"), Carlos de la Mota ("Corazón Indomable"), Mónika Sánchez ("La Gata"), Ramiro Fumazoni ("Grachi") and many more. “Tres Veces Ana" is set to start airing sometime this year.
