We've still got a month until "Teen Wolf" returns to MTV for it's 11th episode, but showrunner Jeff Davis has been dishing on what to expect. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Davis discussed the status of Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and Malia's (Shelley Hennig) relationship.
The executive producer said that fans will be happy to know that romance is still in the air for the two characters. And he revealed that the two will explore their dark sides in season 5b. Davis revealed Malia is still determined to find and kill her own mother, the desert wolf. Davis told EW:
"Malia has her own dark side to deal with in the fact that she’s going to break Scott’s rules which is that we don’t kill people or at least we don’t murder people, because she’s very determined to murder her mother." And yet, Davis promised that "the relationships are very much on our mind every day because we love romance at Teen Wolf and it’s always interesting when they break up, they get back together and seeing the different variations on that and creating these kind of tragic romances."
Furthermore, Davis also explained that there will be no time jump in the 11th episode, reports Yibada. Everything that happens will take place immediately after the events from the mid-season finale.
Meanwhile, according to Youth Health Mag the new villain dubbed The Beast will finally make its way to Beacon Hills. While The Beast is powerful it is said Theo (Cody Christian) will be trying to obtain that power for himself, but to do so he must become a real werewolf first.
It is also reported that Deputy Jordan Parrish (Ryan Kelley) will get a lot more action scenes in the second half of the season after he transforms into the creature that cannot die. According to Realty Today, one of those action scenes will include an epic battle against The Beast. There are no further details but we'll be sure to know more when "Teen Wolf" returns in January.
"Teen Wolf's" midseason premiere is expected to air Jan. 5, 2016.
