A teenager in Argentina died from an electrocution incident on Saturday, Feb. 26, the beginning of many electrocution-related deaths and tragedies that struck across the world this week.
Eighteen-year-old Angel Andrada, who hails from Maipu, Argentina, left reportedly the dinner table to charge his phone when his parents heard a loud noise coming from his room and went up to investigate. There, they found Angel with burns across his body, after which they drove him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the New York Post.
He reportedly had “burns to his neck, both wrists, and his right foot,” as investigators focused even further on the possible causes of his death, including checking the phone charger and the electrical connections across the house.
Relatives across social media have paid tribute to the boy and his family, with one relative posting, “Fly high Angel Andrada, dear nephew, and give strength to your family to help relieve them of such great pain. My condolences to the family, I send you a hug with all my heart.”
Across the world in India, an 11-year-old schoolboy was killed on Wednesday after being hit by a high tension wire attached to a broken electrical pole, thus electrocuting the child to death, Hans India reported.
The 11-year-old boy, whose name was Mandangi Praveen Kumar, had just finished studying at a local ashram school in the city of Srikakulam when he was hit by the high tension wire. Local police officers are interviewing the school as they continue to investigate the case for its causes.
Finally, in the United States, a local man from Madison, Wisconsin was electrocuted after a wire snapped from its pole and hit a vehicle below, killing the man who was just leaning his body over the vehicle, according to Channel 3000.
The 38-year-old man, whose identity has been kept from the public, was in the vicinity of a tree trimming company that was attempting to take out a branch that got stuck in a wire between the intersection of West Broadway and Hoboken Road.
The branch snapped the wire in two and hit the vehicle, whose only occupant appeared to be the man who was leaning on the car. Police are still investigating the case, and it is unclear if the man himself worked for the tree trimming company or he was just around the area when the incident occurred.
