Mexican singer Peso Pluma's name has been tied to drug traffickers since the beginning of his career due to the themes of his lyrics, which often reference this criminal world. Now, however, the connection seems to have become more personal. Peso Pluma, also known as 'La Doble P,' has been spotted in Paris with a blonde many believe is the granddaughter top drug lord of 'El Azul.'

Peso Pluma's love life has been a recurring topic throughout 2024, beginning with his relationship and posterior breakup with Argentine singer Nicki Nicole after a reported unfaithfulness.

He then got involved with Hanna Howell, with their breakup unfolding on social media. Now there are rumors of a possible new relationship with someone who might be connected to Mexican drug trafficking circles.

While the corrido genre has long been associated with organized crime, Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija's potential involvement with Diana Rosalía Esparragoza, granddaughter of Mexican drug lord 'El Azul,' would increase those ties and take them to a more personal level.

The story began when the "Ella Baila Sola" singer was seen in the streets of Paris holding hands with a mysterious blonde. Fans quickly speculated that this was Diana Esparragoza, an influencer with connections to Mexico's upper echelons of organized crime through her grandfather.

Who is 'El Azul?'

Photos of Peso and Diana have rapidly spread online, with some fans intrigued by her family connections and others asking, "Who is her grandfather, and why is there so much commotion?"

The fascination is understandable when considering Diana is the granddaughter of Juan José Esparragoza, a key figure in Mexico's drug trafficking history. Known as 'El Azul,' he was one of the founders of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1970s.

Before entering the criminal underworld, he was part of Mexico's Federal Security Directorate, where he encountered corrupt agents already involved in organized crime.

In the late 1970s, several Mexican drug lords gathered in Guadalajara to reorganize their operations, leading to the formation of the Guadalajara Cartel. It was founded by Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo, Rafael Caro Quintero, Juan José Esparragoza Moreno, and other Sinaloan traffickers.

Later, El Azul was said to have joined the Juárez Cartel under the patronage of Amado Carrillo Fuentes, known as El Señor de los Cielos (Lord of the Skies) and was also linked to Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

El Azul is believed to have died from a heart attack on June 7, 2014, but authorities never confirmed this, leaving his fate one of Mexico's organized crime mysteries.

Although there has been no official confirmation or denial from Peso and Diana about their relationship, fans are eagerly awaiting a response from the rumored couple.
