Director of “Super Smash Bros.” Wii U and 3DS, Masahiro Sakurai, has revealed a brand new “Animal Crossing” stage for the handheld console version of the game. The stage will be modeled after Tortimer Island, which was first seen in “Animal Crossing: New Leaf.” According to Sakurai a “different island layout” will be displayed each time the stage is selected on the game. This new announcement supports Sakurai previous statement that the Wii U and 3DS version of “Super Smash Bros.” will feature different stages and support trophies on both consoles.
Meanwhile 24 fighters have been confirmed for the “Super Smash Bros.” Wii U and 3DS title. The character roster includes: Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Lucario, King Dedede, Zelda, Rosalina and Luma, Marth, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Pit, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar, Luigi, Peach, Toon Link and Sonic. For more information on the characters announced thus far check out the official "Super Smash Bros." website. Make sure to check out Little Mac in action in the gallery above.
“Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U and 3DS was first announced at E3 2011. While Nintendo has given us a extensive roster of fighters the company unfortunately has yet to announce a release date for the title. Originally Nintendo announced the game would be coming this year, 2014, and that still seems to be the case. The company has also revealed a plethora of new stages including a "Mario Galaxy" stage for gamers to look forward to when the title releases.
