Mitchell Lucker, 28, the lead vocalist for American heavy metal band, Suicide Silence, succumbed to injuries from a motorcycle crash on Halloween night. He is survived by his wife Jolie Lucker and 5-year-old daughter, Kenadee.

The band posted a statement on its Facebook page Thursday morning which said "There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will forever be in our hearts".

Lucker lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed into a light pole in Huntington Beach, California, at around 8.55pm. The collision threw him from his bike, and the motorcycle kept sliding down the street until it struck a pickup truck. He was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he died the next morning at 6.17 am.

Nearly 400 fans gathered at the crash site to hold a candlelit vigil in memory of Lucker. His wife stated that she forbade him from going out as he was in an inebriated state. She said, "He was an alcoholic, and it's been a big battle. I tried to stop him. I was in front of him begging him not to leave the house. He did and this is what happened. It's a wake up call."
