Marjorie De Sousa is joining "Sueño De Amor" to help boost audience levels and spice up the storyline. The Venezuelan-born actress will be playing a character (Cristina Velez) that will eventually get involved with Cristian De La Fuente's character (Ricardo Alegria) and from a love triangle with Betty Monroe's Esperanza.
A new report from Flor Rubio suggests that producer Juan Osorio has ordered writers to minimize Esperanza's presence in favor of boosting the relationship between Cristina and Ricardo. How will they do this you may ask? Writers are thinking of having Betty's character go into a coma.

Juan Osorio, the producer behind "Sueño De Amor," recently admitted that his production has not done so well with the audience. "I think we are in a ratings crisis in general," he told "La Taquilla."
"I take full responsibility because I proposed this telenovela with these characteristics and we are fighting for it. I am very convinced of results and what we plan to do," he added.
The telenovela starring Betty Monroe and Cristián De La Fuente was not doing so well with the Univision audience and the time switching did not come as a surprise. "Sueño De Amor" airs weeknights at 7pm ET/PT on the Spanish-language network.
