Student Stabs Classmate To Death In Front Of College After She Refused His Marriage Proposal

A student has been accused of stabbing his female friend and classmate to death in front of their college's gate after she refused his marriage proposal in Mansoura, Egypt.

The accused young man, whose identity has been withheld from the public, was reportedly a third-year Arts student at Mansoura University in Egypt. According to the authorities, the suspect had expressed his desire to marry the victim, however, she promptly refused his advances. Enraged, the young man decided to take revenge and stabbed the woman in front of the gate of the Faculty of Arts building while the victim was on her way to the bus stop, heading back home to al-Mahalla, in Gharbeya governorate, Egypt Independent reported.

The victim, who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. However, the victim succumbed to her injuries and died before arriving at the facility

The suspect reportedly tried to flee the scene following the attack. However, he was captured by security personnel and some passersby. The civilians reportedly handed over the suspect to the police after brutally thrashing him.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a 22-year-old college student allegedly killed an acquaintance of his by slitting her throat in public for rejecting his proposal in Surat, Gujarat, India on Saturday, Feb. 12, Latin Times reported.

The accused Fenil Goyani, who was reportedly in love with the 21-year-old victim, Grishma Vekariya, reached the victim's house on his motorcycle and confessed his love to the victim. However, the victim refused his advances and rejected his plea to enter into a relationship with him. However, he turned violent when the woman rejected his proposal, taking her hostage at knifepoint.

When the woman's uncle confronted Goyani and asked him to stay away from her, he proceed to stab him in the abdomen and ultimately slit the woman's throat. He also injured the victim's brother who had rushed out of the residence during the melee.

After murdering Vekariya, Goyani tried to consume poison in an attempted suicide and also cut a vein on his arm.
