Los Angeles Kings Center Jarret Stoll is said to be doing well after recovering from a seizure he suffered in his Hermosa Beach home Wednesday morning. Stoll, 33, was admitted to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, Calif. where he was last undergoing tests. Dean Lombardi, general manager for the Kings said Stoll was "doing fine," and the cause of the seizure was being investigated.
"Everything is OK. They've run some tests and they still had another one to run," Lombardi told the Los Angeles Times. "The bottom line is that he's fine. Now the issue is what caused it."
Stoll suffered a concussion during playoffs in May during Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Jose Sharks when Sharks forward Raffii Toress delivered a check to Stoll's head. The NHL Board of Player Safety suspended Toress after reviewing the hit. He was barred from playing for the remainder of the series. The Kings went on to defeat the Sharks in seven games, with Stoll sitting on the sidelines. He returned for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks.
That was the second concussion Stoll had suffered. His previous one was while he played on the Edmonton Oilers during the 2006-07 season. Stoll told reporters he was taking it easy when he recovered from the concussion he suffered when hit by Torres.
"I've done this before, earlier on in my career, so I know how it feels and what's right and what's not if I'm off or back to normal or not," he said.
