Today, Sony has released a short video celebrating the history of the PlayStation console and its brand. The video, titled "Since 95," was said to be inspired by the hashtag "#PlayStationMemories" and places particular focus on the impact of the consoles in Britain thanks to the chronologically accurate London skyline and the inclusion of the authentic period Domino's pizza boxes. Make sure to check out the video below for a heavy dose of nostalgia and some exciting new glimpses of what's in store for the upcoming next-generation PS4 console.
The three-minute long video starts off with the sounds of old PlayStation games and the glimpse of an old dorm room from the 90s in London. It then leads into two young men playing "Tekken" on the very first PlayStation. Then quickly, time elapses and in that very room another young man is playing what appears to be "Resident Evil" on the PS2. Then again, in that same room, a young group of kids play a racing game on the current-generation PlayStation 3. Then the video moves in to the future where two young guys prepare to play the games on the PS4 and then we are led into a glimpse of all the upcoming titles from the next-generation console.
This is the second video released by Sony about PlayStation products in the past two weeks. The first video released is a musical, of sorts, that showcases real life players in gaming scenarios while singing "Perfct Day."
The PlayStation 4 will release November 15. Will you be buying the next-generation console?
