Sofía Vergara has finished recording a five episode mini telenova that will broadcast in Latin America.

The telenovela, which has no name as of now, has not revealed Vergara's exact role. The telenovela was reportedly shot in Long Island, New York.

"I had fun making this special project and I hope the audience will enjoy it throughout Latin America," said the "Modern Family" actress in a statement released by Latin World Entertainment (LatinWE). "For now I can not give details. It's a surprise that I have reserved them."

Select photographs have been released of the actress where she is wearing a white dress and is talking to a police officer. The telenovela will be broadcast all throughout Latin America except Brazil.

This isn't the only film endeavor outside of "Modern Family" that Vergara will be taking part in. Vergara's entertainment company, Latin World Entertainment, has reportedly bought the rights of popular Argentine television show "Mujeres Asesinas."

The English adaptation has been described as an hour-long soapy procedural featuring Latino actors. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the plot will focus on a female Texas Ranger working in a male-dominated profession and will be shot in San Antonio, Texas. TV Line adds that the lead role of Molly Parker has been given to "Battlestar Galactica" alum Tricia Helfer.

This summer, the Latina actress will also be launching her own shapewear line exclusively at Kmart.

"Usually, when I go to an event I wear shapewear ... It's not to hold anything in, but to smooth everything out ... But I do have to wear a bra with everything," says Vergara.

"Shapewear has always been a part of a woman's wardrobe, but I wanted it to look cute, not like a horrible girdle," adds the actress. "It's for the everyday woman who wants to look good without spending a lot of money on shapewear, earrings or high heels that make her look cute and sexy."
