The women's figure skating competition is underway in Sochi with Korea's Kim Yu Na skating to the lead following the short-program. Yu Na is the defending Olympic champion from Vancouver. However, she is only .3 points ahead of Adelina Sotnikova of Russia going into the long program. The US' Gracie Gold is sitting in fourth position. There have been some memorable performances at these olympics already. Here are a look back at some of the greatest of all time.
1. Kim Yu Na - Vancouver Olympics 2010. - Skating to the "James Bond" theme. 'Queen' Kim Yu Na is unquestionably one of the most powerful, passionate, graceful skaters to ever hit the ice. Yu Na portrayed the sexiness of a Bond vixen with the elegance and grace of a swan. The light and sophisticated performance, the incredible soaring jumps, the complexity of the choreography all made this performance something special. Yu Na went on to win the gold with record-breaking long program score.
2. Michelle Kwan - Philadelphia US Championships 1998 - Skating to Concerto No. 3 and Piano Trio No. 2 by Rachmaninoff. Michelle Kwan will always be remembered as the darling of American figure skating. One of the most accomplished skaters of all time, Kwan won the World Championships an incredible nine times. Kwan won the short program segment at both the 1998 Olympic Games and the 2002 Olympic Games. And with this incredible performance, you can see why.
3. Peggy Fleming - Grenbole Olympics 1968 - Skating to Selections from Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, and Rossin. Fleming was a skater truly ahead of her time. The strength and agility of her jumps, the seamless quality of her turns, the grace of her choreography made her an incredible star who remains to this day infinitely watchable.
4. Mao Asada - Tokyo Grand Prix Final 2006 - Skating to Chopin. Mao Asada has had a challenging Sochi Olympics, but this former child prodigy has delivered some stellar performances. At just 15, Asada skated a remarkable short program to win the Grand Prix Final. Her elegance, speed and beauty make her poetry on ice.
5. Sasha Cohen - Torino Olympics 2006 - Skating to "Dark Eyes" by Nikolai Morozov. Sasha Cohen was truly a ballerina on ice. She was always incredible to watch, but her 2006 performance n Torino was something special. While she could not deliver the gold in the long program, her passionate personality, huge jumps and daring musicality were incredible.
