"Silicon Valley" is a comedy by Mike Judge, creator cult movie "Office Space" and animated show like "Beavis And Butt-Head" and "King Of The Hill." The new HBO sitcom is set in the hub of the high-tech business city in California with a group friends vying to make it big. The series is partially inspired by Judge's own experiences in the late 80s when he was an engineer. With the premise of "the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success" we will see this group of programmers hoping to score the next tech phenomenon.
The premium net just released a full trailer of the show and it has already created controversy with a line that references the former Apple CEO. "If you want to love here you've got to deliver, like Steve," one character says in the trailer. After clarifying he was referring to Jobs and not Wozniak the other character says, "Jobs was a poser, he didn't even write code." The dig came on the eve of Jobs' birthday, February 24. In true Judge form the sitcom will give way to laugh at those moments that life presents.
Thomas Middledith, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Christopher Evan Welch and Amanda Crew are set to star in the sitcome while Matt Ross will guest star on the show. HBO's new comedy was a collaborarion between Judge and Alec Berg with Judge directing eight episodes and Berg directing two. The remaining will be handled by Tricia Brock and Maggie Carey. "Silicon Valley" starts its 8-episode freshman season on April 6 at 10pm ET on HBO. Watch the complete trailer down below and tell us what you think!
