Shakira spins Women Don't Cry Anymore

Colombian artist Shakira began her tour 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' in Brazil, where she not only had historic sell-outs but also broke several records. However, it was not all good news. The first show was plagued with problems, and things did not stop there.

The first night at the Nito Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro was awash with technical problems from the start, which was surprising for a production of this magnitude. Especially for an artist who prides herself on being a perfectionist and detail-oriented.

They fixed one thing, and something else went wrong. People in the audience reported in social media that it was difficult to focus only on the show because they saw technicians running from one side to the other all the time. A shame for the thousands of people who gathered for the debut of one of the most anticipated Latin music tours for 2025.

Reports on social media

"Here's a close up of the technical issues," wrote one of the artist's fan clubs.

"Audio problems continue."

"She had audio issues throughout the entire show, starting from the intro. The images. During the set changes, you could see all the technicians running from one side of the stage to the other without any order... in short.

I suppose it will be corrected, but it was quite chaotic, especially for her."

"Shakira couldn't start the concert as planned because the monitor wasn't working... WOW, didn't that production team check that everything was in order?"

The delay in Sao Paulo

The second night in Rio was better, but the third in Brazil was in the city of Sao Paulo. There, at the Morumbi stadium, Shakira broke the record for the largest Latin female artist at a concert, surpassing 80,000 people.

Unfortunately, rain forced a delay, but the problems had been there since the doors opened.

"Dude, demoralized. The entrance to Shakira's show was probably the most disorganized thing I've ever seen in my life. 40 minutes had passed and people kept coming in, because there was no line. To get into area E, there was only a tiny gate," wrote one witness.

The Inca's revenge?

In Peru she was welcomed like a queen, but the problems were of a different kind. Shakira herself posted on her social networks that she had faced gastrointestinal problems that forced her to cancel, at least, her first night in Lima.

"I'm very sad not to be able to go on stage," wrote the star, who remained hospitalized at the Delgado Clinic in Lima on Sunday.

Since Shakira was unable to go on stage, fans went to see her at the hospital. Hundreds of people could be seen at the clinic's entrance wishing her a speedy recovery.

The change of date in Colombia

After the show in Peru, Shakira has a date with her fans in her country. The concerts will be in Barranquilla, Medellín and Bogotá.

It was supposed to be all joy and excitement, but it hasn't been like that. This week it was announced that the concert in Medellin, scheduled for February 23, was suddenly cancelled. It will now be the following day, as the mayor's office gave the date to a football match.

The fans from Paisa and those who had organized a trip to see her are devastated and outraged.
"When you're having a bad day, just remember that a week before @shakira's concert in Medellín, they changed the date 🫠 I already had all my tickets, accommodation, and time off from work 💔 Everything is a mess! Who makes these decisions?"

"Those of us who were traveling to Medellín for Shakira's concert right now:
Clothes ready, tickets ready, time off approved."

"I sold a kidney to go to @shakira's concert, and now I have to sell the one I have left because she decided to change the date in Medellín.

They justify it by saying they'll refund the ticket money, as if they were also going to refund the flights with @avianca and the hotel."

Karma, disorganization, or bad luck?

Fans online are wondering if none of this would have happened if Shakira had kept to the original plans for her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour. The tour was supposed to start in late 2024 in the United States and would be a sports arena tour.

When many had already bought their tickets, paid for hotel reservations, and organized vacations, it was announced that everything was cancelled, and now the concerts in the United States and Canada will be in the summer and in stadiums, as well as in Latin America.

Now we just have to wait for Shakira to recover her health and for her performance to continue to improve with practice. Good luck and good health to everyone!
