The long rumored collaboration between Shakira and Rihanna has an official release date. The singers’ song “Can’t Remember To Forget” will drop Jan. 13. The song is off Shakira’s upcoming RCA album and will feature vocals by Rihanna. International super star Pitbull accidentally let it slip that the Colombian beauty would be working with Rihanna on a song. Mr. 305 was giving an interview and discussing his collaboration with singer Kesha. Pit said the “We Are Who We Are” singer was not his first choice of female vocals for the song “Timber.”

“The person we were looking at first to work on that record was actually Rihanna. But she had something she had to do with Shakira and wasn’t able to work on our record,” Pitt said during the interview. “Can’t Remember To Forget” will lead Shakira’s spring 2014 album and will be the first collaboration between the two women. The rumors of their duet have been around for months with Pitbull’s remark adding fuel to the fire. Rihanna herself clarified the release date when @Javiroo tweeted the song would drop on Jan 14.

Rihanna took to Twitter to correct the post saying, “Actually I just found out you’ll have it by the 13th!” The singer then hastaged the phrase “1week.” Rihanna is also riding the wave of success she has received following another collaboration with rapper Eminem. The pair came together before for the song “Love The Way You Lie,” and have recently released the number one smash hit “The Monster.” Shakira’s untitled LP will be her first English-language album since she released “She Wolf” in 2009.
