Singer Shakira is reportedly “devastated” after her fans spotted her ex-partner Gerard Pique‘s new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, in a zoom interview that he did in 2021.
It was shot at the house that he shared with Shakira, and they were said to be “happily together” at the time, reported Page Six. A source said that the singer is “devastated to learn that this woman clearly felt at home in the house they shared with their children.” Shakira was away traveling with their two sons when he conducted the zoom interview. But Shakira and Pique were "very much still together at that time," said the source. The insider added that it’s "devastating for her to learn that this affair had been going on for a lot longer than she imagined."
She and Pique announced their separation in 2022, after being together for 11 years. Out of those 11 years, eight were spent in Barcelona, Spain. Shakira and her children are currently moving to Miami, reported MARCA.
In an October 2022 Elle digital cover story that was published last September, the singer had described the break-up as “incredibly difficult." She had said that it’s hard to talk about it, especially because she was "still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye, and because our separation is not like a regular separation."
It seems like the split was still something that she was thinking about at the beginning of 2023. On New Year’s Day, she wrote on social media that even if "our wounds are still open in this new year, time has a surgeon’s hands. Even if someone’s betrayed us, we must continue to trust others.”
Meanwhile, a new chapter has emerged in the feud between Shakira and Pique, reported MARCA. Their eldest son Milan became the protagonist in one of Pique's new live streams on Twitch, and that hasn't gone down well with the singer. The nine-year-old accompanied his father to talk about the Kings League. The boy won over all the viewers who followed the live broadcast. Even Pique was surprised at how well his son spoke, but this did not please Shakira.
The Colombian singer had not given her prior consent, nor was she consulted regarding the boy's participation in the retransmission of the event. Shakira was also not happy that certain topics were discussed in front of the child. She does not want this to happen again.
