A very pregnant took to the stage this weekend to perform at the closing ceremony of FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Baku.

"I felt awesome on stage!" the Columbian singer tweeted. "We really enjoyed tonight! Shak #Baku"

Shakira was clad in all-black with knee-high black leather boots.

Shakira's performance was in question after Human rights group Amnesty International urged her and Rihanna "to open their eyes to recent arrests of journalists, bloggers and activists in Azerbaijan, before their performances in the former Soviet republic this month."

Shakira revealed that she and Spanish soccer star boyfriend Gerard Piqué, 25, are expecting a baby boy.

Shakira announced that she was expecting last month and cancelled several promotional activities and hoped for her fans' understanding.

"I'd like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding," she said.

Last week, Shakira showed her 18.3 million followers her baby bump for the first time.

"Now I don't have a six pack, only one pack!!" she tweeted.

Shakira and Piquè have been dating since 2010. This will be their first child. The couple purchased a home in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona earlier this year.

She did not announce when the baby is expected to arrive, but many speculate that the singer will give birth in January 2013.

Shakira burst onto the international pop scene with her 2006 single, "Hips Don't Lie." The two-time Grammy award winning artist signed on with Jay Z's Roc Nation in early 2012 to produce her latest album. She is also expected to go on a promotional tour next year.

Shakira will replace Christina Aguilera for the fourth season of NBC's "The Voice" next spring.
