Selena Gomez seems to want Justin Bieber totally out of her life. Last weekend, the singer took down a photo of Bieber on her Instagram. It was the last trace of her ex on her social media account.
It has been a while since Gomez and Bieber last dated. The last time they were together was around the first quarter of 2018. When Bieber celebrated his birthday in March, Gomez posted a birthday greeting for her then boyfriend, and it was the sweetest thing ever.
On June 8, however, Gomez took some time off her busy schedule to delete the final traces of Bieber from her Instagram feed, including the cute birthday greeting she posted last year. In the post, Gomez was inside a car trying to balance Bieber’s photo on her forehead. “March 1, 1994 someone that I know that happens to be super cool was born. Boom,” she wrote.
For fans, Gomez’s deliberate effort to delete every reference to Bieber from her Instagram is a sign that she wants to move on with her life and wants people to stop including her in Bieber’s narrative. This is despite Bieber admitting back in April that he still loved Gomez and that she would always be a big part of his life.
It can be recalled that a couple of months ago, Bieber responded to a fan who accused him of marrying Hailey Baldwin to get back at Gomez. “I absolutely loved and love Selena she will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heals [sic] in love with my wife and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has ever happened to me period,” he wrote.
Gomez and Bieber had been in an on-and-off relationship for eight long years before they ultimately broke up in March 2018, just a few weeks after Gomez posted her birthday greeting for Bieber. Fans thought the two would still get back together, but they did not.
Months later, Bieber announced that he and Baldwin were already husband and wife. The couple has already set a date for their church wedding while Gomez is now living her best life, keeping herself busy with new endorsements and an upcoming album.
