Former flames Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez might have moved on, but Gomez isn’t letting bygones be bygones. And, this was evidenced when she dropped a single “Feel Me” on Friday—Um, soon after Bieber’s new album “Changes” which is essentially an ode to Hailey Baldwin, the love of Bieber’s life.

Here’s a fun fact. Whilst Gomez’s latest track just saw the light of day, it was written way back in 2016 when Bieber and Gomez were wading through tough times. It was during the “Revival” tour in ‘16 when the song was debuted and was largely inspired by Bieber’s philandering ways –he dates Hailey and ex Sofia Riche, and Gomez accused him of cheating. Just for the record, Gomez had revealed in an explosive interview that she did feel like a victim of some kind of abuse while dating Bieber.

The big reveal came during a freewheeling chat with Garcia-Navarro, wherein Gomez also admitted to how the track “Lose You to Love Me” was about Bieber. “I'm very proud of it. It has a different meaning to me now from when I wrote it. I felt I didn't get a respectful closure, and I had accepted that, but I know I needed some way to just say a few things that I wish I had said,” Gomez said while dropping details about the album.

“It's not a hateful song; it's a song that is saying — I had something beautiful and I would never deny that it wasn't that. It was very difficult and I'm happy it's over. And I felt like this was a great way to just say, you know, it's done, and I understand that and I respect that, and now here I am stepping into a whole other chapter,” she added.

Fast forward to now, though Gomez initially decided to exclude the “Feel Me” track out of her album, owing to how she feels the vibe of the track doesn’t sync with where she’s currently at in life, the 27-year-old singer caved to the demands of her fans and released it anyway.

The timing of the track’s release though, is something that raises a volley of questions.
