Sara Celeste Otero, 28, has been missing for more than a week, and her family members are concerned for her wellbeing.

Last week, police tweeted details of Otero, who was last seen on Jan. 28 at around 8.40 am in Oceanside.

According to Kusi News, police, family, and friends have called on the public’s help in finding her.

Her relatives told Fox News that her phone has been switched off since 10 am that morning. Otero’s stepbrother, Ryan Bear, said Monday that they have got "very little details." And that's the reason that they are trying to ask the "public for any and all information at this point, because we don't know anything."

The California woman left her mother’s house late last month after telling her stepfather that she was going to the gym, her stepsister Chelsea said. But, she never reached the gym. Her friend told Otero's family members that she had no idea about a plan to meet that day.

Bear said that he believed Otero had thought of taking some alone time at a beach. But she didn't show up for her work shift that evening, something that is completely out of character, he added. He said that she had "never missed a day of work."

According to Bear, Otero’s boyfriend was at work at his own job the morning she disappeared, and is just as broken up as the rest of her family. Bear said that her boyfriend is in "just as much shock as we all are." Chelsea said that due to coronavirus pandemic, she has only met the boyfriend over Zoom. She said that the pair had been dating for a short time and had "been going through some stuff." But Chelsea did not suspect foul play. She said that the boyfriend is "pretty devastated."

As for Otero, Chelsea said that she’s "grappling with a lot, she shared that she was feeling depressed…it’s affected their relationship." She said that she was worried Otero might have harmed herself. According to Otero's siblings, she had struggled with substance abuse in the past but has been clean for at least two years. Bear said that she had sometimes been reclusive, but cutting off communication with her family is not normal.

Cops described her as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds and having blue eyes and long brown hair. She also has several tattoos. She has "Winnie the Pooh" tattoo on her ankle, a flower on her arm and another one that says "It’s in our nature" on her right bicep. Otero, who wears glasses, was last seen donning a green military-style jacket with a pair of bronze pants. According to police, she might be traveling in a charcoal gray car with California license plate 7GAB955.

Nobody knows where she might have gone, but police indicated that she liked to spend time at California’s state parks. She was known to camp in her car, according to New York Post. Chelsea said that Otero has ties to Boise, Idaho, where she had stayed until 2019.
