Salma Hayek has been known for being very vocal against Donald Trump. Back in March, she was asked by Jimmy Kimmel to talk some sense to him, to which she greatly replied, “You don’t need to talk sense in to him. Everybody is entitled to their own madness,” she said. “You need to talk sense into the people who are not seeing the madness.”
The “Sausage Party” star took another jab at the GOP presidential candidate after his cringe-worthy “7-Eleven” mistake in April, when Trump confused the 9/11 date with the chain of convenience stores during a rally in Buffalo, New York. "I am a dyslexic Mexican and English is my second language, however even I do not confuse 7/11 with 9/11. #DonaldTrump," the actress tweeted at the time.
And her comments go way back. During an interview with the Los Angeles Times in July 2015, Hayek revealed that she could see through Trump’s “manipulation” after his derogative comments about immigrants, calling them “rapists” and “criminals,” among other things. “It’s a very simple tactic for self-promotion,” Hayek said. “Everybody’s entitled to be dumb. But I’m not dumb, so I see through the manipulation.”
It was no surprise that Salma wasn’t shy when she sat down with James Corden on “The Late Late Show” and the host pulled out a picture of the Mexican actress ready to destroy a Donald Trump piñata. She explained that she was throwing a party at her home and a guest brought the funny gift. Corden then asked her if there was anything she and Trump agreed on, and again, Salma’s answer was worthy of becoming viral.
“He writes in his book that when he was in first grade, he punched his music teacher because he didn’t think he knew anything about music,” Hayek said. “And, later in the book, he reflects, saying that he’s still exactly the same as that kid in first grade. I agree with him, that we have a first-grade bully running for the president of the United States.”
That didn’t stop there, she then proceeded to give Donald Trump a lesson on immigration and presented the book “US History For Dummies,” which she hopes the presidential candidate reads. "Mr. Trump, I recommend to you to read this book," she said while holding the yellow book. "I will gladly lend you my copy."
