Rudy Giuliani's Son Fighting to Keep World Series Rings From Being Used to Pay His Dad's Massive Debt to Defamed Election Workers

The 38-year-old son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who attempted to file bankruptcy after a court declared he must pay $148 million in damages to two Georgia election workers, is fighting to keep four World Series rings he said his father gifted him.

The Yankees gifted the championship rings to then-Mayor Giuliani in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000. According to reporting by AP News, he then gifted all four rings to his son, Andrew, in 2018 but stipulated Rudy could keep one to wear.

While attempting to file bankruptcy following the multi-million defamation lawsuit, Giuliani listed three of the World Series rings as his personal property along with a slew of other jewelry items totaling approximately $30K, AP News reported.

Giuliani's son filed papers in federal court in Manhattan on Tuesday to keep the rings since they were a gift, and, therefore, don't technically belong to his father. He also submitted a photo from the night he received the rings at his fathers 74th birthday celebration.

"He said to me, in substance and in part, 'I told you when I got these that they would be yours someday, and I want to give them to you now,'" Andrew stated, according to his filings obtained by AP News. "As a child and young adult, I had spent many nights with my father watching Yankees games and bonding over our love for the team, and I was excited about receiving the rings."
