Rudy Giuliani faces further scrutiny after posting a video of his dog at Mar-a-Lago, celebrating "his favorite president" Donald Trump, while he was expected to appear in court for a trial over defamation damages.

Giuliani has been embroiled in legal battles stemming from his involvement in spreading false claims about the 2020 election. On Thursday, he was set to testify in a trial to determine whether he must surrender valuable assets to satisfy a $148 million defamation judgment, according to PBS.

Instead of arriving on time for his scheduled trial on Thursday, Giuliani posted a video to X featuring his dog Vinny at Mar-a-Lago, causing delays.

"Vinny loves hanging out at Mar-a-Lago, but he's ready to spend a lot more time in Washington, D.C. over the course of the next four years in support of his favorite President—Donald J. Trump," Giuliani wrote.

It is unclear when the video was originally filmed.

The trial was adjourned after Giuliani was nearly two hours late, and questions were raised about his apparent disregard for the legal proceedings.

The trial is expected to resume later in the day, and Giuliani's failure to show up on time could result in further penalties.
