Move over Don Omar and Tego Calderón! There’s a new Latin artist that will be making a special appearance on the new “Fast & Furious” movie. Romeo Santos, “The King of Bachata,” will join the outstanding cast in this new film, scheduled to hit theaters April 10, 2015. It was at Romeo’s concert last night in Los Angeles that a special guest took the stage to make the announcement. Santos was performing at the Staples Center as a part of his “Formula Vol. 2 Tour” when Vin Diesel jumped on stage and officially announced this casting decision.
“I came here tonight, to tell you, that Romeo will be in Fast & Furious 7,” Diesel said in Spanish. Fans screamed in excitement as the two celebs shook hands. The details of the appearance of the Grammy-nominated singer have yet to be revealed, but we do know he’ll be joining Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, and more newcomers alongside series returners Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, and the late Paul Walker in the James Wan-directed sequel.
This information was confirmed to Latin Times by 42 West, company in charge of the film’s PR. Meanwhile, Romeo Santos will continue his tour throughout some of the major venues in the United States, to finish in a grand way on July 11 and 12 at the Yankee Stadium in two historic shows.
