After a successful first season, “The Rising of Shield Hero” needs to make sure that its second season brings in something better. No official release date has been announced although it is expected to roll out in 2021.
A second and third season for “The Rising of Shield Hero” was announced at the 2019 Crunchyroll Expo. And something to take out of that is that the second season will happen this year.
The first season ended with 25 episodes and the Japanese anime series was an undoubtedly successful series. The last episode ended on June 26, 2019. Though the pandemic shrouded 2020, showrunners had gotten more than enough time to prepare for the second season of “The Rising if Shield Hero.”
There is also reason to believe that things will be better for her. Masato Jinbo joined as a director to help out in season 2 of the anime. The first season was directed by Takao Abo.
Among the things to expect for season 2 include the addition of new characters. It will continue to revolve around Naofumi Iwatani who was dragged into a parallel universe alongside three other young men. After offering to become the world’s Cardinal heroes, Iwatani is expected to lead the way in the second season alongside Raphtalia, Filo, and others.
There is a lot to expect, particularly how other countries are dealing with The Wave of Calamity. Most need the aid of heroes and this could be part of the adventures in the second season. This will also allow viewers to see the political structures, culture and societies in the parallel word that were not seen in season 1.
The Waves remain the big issue and handling all that will fall at the hands of the heroes. Aside from that, new enemies and allies are expected. This hints at new power-ups even if Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo made big strides last time out.
For now, all “The Rising of the Shield Hero” followers can do is sit back and wait for the second season to unravel. By all accounts, that is expected to happen soon! For now, check out the trailer below.
