A$AP Relli, aka Terell Ephron, revealed himself to be the man A$AP Rocky allegedly shot last November. Reports state Ephron intends to file a civil suit for battery, assault, and emotional distress against his high school buddy.
According to Rolling Stone, Rakim Mayers, better known as A$AP Rocky was arrested in April for an assault with a deadly weapon during the alleged “shooting” but police withheld the victim’s name from the public. Although Mayers was not charged, he was required to attend a court hearing over the incident on Sunday. However, Ephron has publicly accused Mayers of coaxing him to a rather dubious location in central Hollywood to discuss some disagreements the two parties had.
Statements from Ephron’s attorneys Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz indicated that Ephron, who was just coming to have a civil conversation, was unknowingly walking into a trap set up by Mayer, who had brought with him a semi-automatic handgun to this supposedly friendly discourse. After arriving at the agreed location, Ephron, without warning or provocation, was met with multiple gunshots fired from Mayers’ pistol. Terell Ephron claims he sustained minor injuries to his left hand during the alleged shooting. The entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras nearby.
News of the shooting made headlines back in April when Mayers was arrested by police shortly after landing at LAX from a vacation with his girlfriend Rihanna. The couple flew in from Rihanna’s home country of Barbados weeks before the couple was expecting their first child. The 33-year-old rapper was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon but was shortly released from jail after paying a $500,000 bond, although Mayers has not yet made a public statement concerning the shooting. His lawyer, Alan Jackson did not give an immediate reply.
Authorities have suppressed much of the information on the case, however, Los Angeles Police believe that Mayers had indeed fired several shots at Ephron during the dispute.
Additional statements provided to Rolling Stone by Ephron’s lawyers say that their client has suffered “multiple death threats and irreparable harm to his career in the entertainment industry as a result of this incident”.
