Pop superstar Rihanna has agreed to drop her lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, in court just weeks before the parties were slated to front court later this month for a trial.

The Fenty Beauty founder, 33, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, initially called for the court to grant her an injunction against her father for using the Fenty name and ban him from meddling with her shows.

The parties were supposed to face off on Sept. 22 for the trial but the Fenties might have ultimately decided to fix the issue privately, according to Radar Online.

In 2019, Rihanna sued her father and his company Fenty Entertainment for using her name to make money without her approval. She alleged her father was seeking profit from her fame and falsely acting as her agent alongside his business partner Moses Perkins.

Her camp would contend in the bombshell lawsuit that, “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.”

Furthermore, the Barbadian singer, who is now worth $1.7 billion after Forbes named her the world's richest female musician, accused Ronald of booking an entire $15 million tour overseas without checking with her.

Rihanna said he also secured a couple of shows in Los Angeles without her approval.

The patriarch would also allegedly try to trademark “Fenty,” capitalizing on its ties with Rihanna to open a chain of hotels. The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office would junk Ronald's petition but it did not stop him from acting out, arguing it was his last name after all.

Since Rihanna lodged the legal action against her father, the two have remained in touch. The "Umbrella" singer provided monetary assistance to her father after he tested for COVID-19 last year, sending a ventilator and checking in on his welfare every day.

Over the years, the singer and her father met several bumps on the road as Ronald had battled an addiction to crack cocaine in the past apart from being a long-time heavy drinker, the Daily Mail noted.

Rihanna would share in her previous interviews that she had witnessed her father physically abuse her mother, to the point of breaking her nose, during her younger years.

In 2008, the Fenty father was sent home from Rihanna's North American tour following his appalling drunken behavior on her tour bus. In 2013, the singer registered Ronald under a $58,000 Malibu rehab program to save him from jail following his arrest during a visit to California.
