Quite like several other globally known stars who’ve voiced their concerns over the gnawing farmers’ protests in India, Rihanna too expressed her support to protesting farmers.
The protests were carried out as a revolt, in a bid to urge the Centre to repeal Farm bills. But, RiRi was greeted with the rudest shock of her life after Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actor and active Twitter user publicly chided the international R&B singer.
Rihanna had recently Tweeted: “Why aren't we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest” while simultaneously sharing a news piece that highlighted the internet blockade in and around New Delhi as farmers went on with their tractor rally protests in Singhu border, Ghazipur and Tikri. This was followed by a shutdown that was extended beyond Wednesday at 5 p.m. upon the orders of the Indian Home Minister.
While Rihanna's tweet amassed mammoth; Ranaut was clearly not pleased. And she retorted, “No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA...Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies.”
The remarks have triggered fury against Ranaut among netizens who’ve been mercilessly trolling her ever since she began to articulate her thoughts on the socio-economic crises in India.
