Knicks sixth man JR Smith told reporters after his team beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of their playoff matchup that he wasn't concerned with singer Rihanna's comments about him, saying, "I'm not worried about Instagram. I'm worried about the playoffs."
Rihanna had previously dismissed allegations that she and Smith were romantically involved in a profanity-laced Twitter post.
To a Twitter user who had suggested that Rihanna was to blame for JR Smith's sluggish performances in the first four games against the Indiana Pacers, Rihanna lashed out, calling the Knicks a "wack a** team" and adding, "Nobody dont want that desert thirsty n****!! He f***** up cus his a** be hungover from clubbing every night during playoffs!"

Smith, who had previously missed two playoff games because of the flu -- which some said was actually a hangover -- denied on Twitter earlier this month that he had gone clubbing before games. In the Knicks' Game 5 victory, he added 13 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block, ending a streak of poor play for the Sixth Man of the Year. Knicks coach Mike Woodson told NJ.com that Smith had been "focused".
"I thought he did a lot of good things," Woodson added. "He missed some shots that he normally makes. But defensively, he has his hands filled when you got to go against [Paul] George when I take Iman [Shumpert] out," Woodson said. "Those are the things I'm looking at in terms of how he's competing defensively. When he's got shots, you just got to hope that he makes them. I have faith in him."
Smith went 4-for-11 from the floor in Game 5, a performance that he said wasn't his best but proved to be a sign of encouragement to Knicks fans. He hit the first shot he took, a three-pointer which put the Knicks up 17-12.
"It helps me a lot," Smith told the Daily News about the shot. "It takes pressure of that first one. I was talking to John Starks yesterday, and he was telling me, don't put so much emphasis and pressure on the first shot and I think that's what I've been doing lately. I'm not worried about it."
The Sixth Man of the Year appeared to poke fun at the entire episode earlier today on Instagram with a Men in Black meme.
