In a video posted online, Eric disclosed details of the situation, explaining that he had resorted to social media because Ricky had blocked him. Eric urged Ricky to reconnect with their paternal family, hinting at a significant issue between them.

A shift in tone

Eric's tone evolved across the videos. The first message, posted and later deleted after Ricky's December 24th birthday, read:

"Glad you're in PR celebrating your 53rd birthday with the kids, but remember, two days ago marked a year since you last saw or cared about Dad," wrote Eric, the artist's younger brother.

In a subsequent video posted on Instagram before Three Kings' Day, Eric appeared alongside their father, Enrique Martin. He said, "Greetings to my brother Enrique Martín, and kisses to all my nieces and nephews. I hope in 2025 we can resolve all these issues and see each other again soon."

The fans are supporting Ricky

The stark contrast between Ricky's public image as a dedicated father and Eric's accusations left fans divided. One commenter noted, "While the message might have good intentions, posting it on social media makes me question those 'good' intentions." Another wrote, "If he doesn't want contact with you, he must have his reasons. Trying to manipulate him publicly is ugly. If I were Ricky, I'd distance myself even more."

Eric hinted at unresolved family issues but emphasized the importance of staying close:
"All families have problems, but that doesn't mean we should drift apart. That's what the enemy wants," he said.

Eric also apologized if he had done anything wrong, signaling a desire for reconciliation while acknowledging there are reasons for the estrangement.

This family drama comes shortly after Ricky shared happy moments with his children in Puerto Rico. He posted beach photos with Lucía and Renn, calling the experience "simple days."

Ricky's relationship with his family has faced public scrutiny before. Known as a devoted son, Ricky has supported his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family not just emotionally, but financially.

When his father, Enrique Martin, suffered multiple strokes, Ricky covered all expenses and adjusted his schedule to spend more time in Puerto Rico.

In 2022, Martin faced allegations from his nephew (his sister's son) of sexual abuse, which were later withdrawn. During the ordeal, Ricky focused on defending himself without addressing his family.
