Ricky Martin, not only a singer but an author as well, is getting ready for the release of the upcoming children's book "Santiago The Dreamer In Land Among The Stars." This hardcover book is a timeless story about a boy who follows his heart and a father who believes in his son's potential. "When you reach for the moon sometimes you land among the stars," is the tagline of the book. The synopsis of this captivating story is as follows: Santiago’s biggest dream is to perform on stage. But when he doesn’t get the lead role in the school play, he can’t help but doubt himself. Encouraged by his father’s inspiring words, Santiago rebuilds his confidence and finds that with passion and dedication, you can achieve amazing things beyond your wildest imagination. Martin's book, illustrated by Patricia Castelao, will be simultaneously released in Spanish on November 12 with the title being, "Santiago El Soñador Entre Las Estrellas." This is not the singer's first foray in the publishing world as he also authored the autobiography, "Me" in 2010 that made its debut at number 5 on The New York Times Best Seller List.
Penguin, the publishing house behind "Santiago," is also publishing "Chupie: The Binky That Returned Home," by Latin superstar Thalia. The idea of "Chupie" was inspired by her eldest daughter when she tried to take away her "binky." The "Te Perdiste Mi Amor" singer went in search for literature with techniques to help her out but was unsuccesful. "This is a story that I developed as a personal technique that worked for me to take away Sabrina's binky," she said in an interview earlier this year. The book has already been spun off to a musical project that will soon be released. "It occurred to me to tie the book with music, which is something I adore. To have the opportunity to sing to kids for the first time, and to make a kids' album with classic songs that I grew up listening to, the songs that my children like."
Ricky has been enjoying much success with his most recent album and has been invited to participate in the Viña del Mar music festival in Chile on February 23 of next year. The "Más y Más" singer will be in charge of opening the prestigious Chilean festival. The astro singer spent this year in Australia as a coach of their local version of "The Voice" reality show. Martin has spent the latter part of the year touring the country to a wide crowd and finished it off in the nations most reknown city of Sydney, with two sold out presentations.
