While broadcasting live, Nelson and his cameraman were startled when a thief brazenly stole one of their lights right in front of them.
The incident highlighted the unpredictability of reporting in public spaces. Speaking to fellow reporter Troy Sincock, Nelson expressed his disbelief, remarking, "You don't expect this!"
The incident has drawn widespread attention, with many pointing to the irony of a journalist being robbed while reporting on crime.
Authorities have yet to confirm if an investigation is underway to recover the stolen equipment.
