Season 2 of “Reign” has had its fair share of drama, from the Black Plague, to the coronation, to a royal christening, and tonight’s episode “Blood for Blood” won’t disappoint. Moving away from the inner workings of the castle, the beginning of the episode will focus on the historical nature of Mary and Francis’ rule, after rising to the through, the young couple faced perilous times and the constant threat of religious wars. The CW series will begin to touch upon that tonight when displaying the rising tension between Catholics and Protestants within their own court. The “Blood for Blood” synopsis teases that in one confrontation “Louis' Protestant nephew is killed.” In the aftermath of the Black Plague, the French countryside is awash with supernatural stories, although fans saw how the supernatural unrest had even touched the castle, with Lola’s baby nurse becoming possessed by the spirit of the deceased King Henry.
Or so they thought, the synopsis reveals that “Caroline is in the pay of Narcisse, and she faked being possessed in order to get Francis to confess to his father's murder.” After the confession, Francis and his reign is put in a precarious spot, one, which Narcisse easily manipulates. The deceitful lord “uses this knowledge to blackmail Francis into letting the Catholic murderers of Louis' nephew go free.” Speaking of Narcisse, the lord has his eye on more than just power inside the castle, following the antics with Estelle; Narcisse approaches Lola. Despite fearing the worst for her role in Estelle’s escape plan, Lola is shocked when Narcisse reveals that he “wishes to pursue her as a potential partner.”
In addition to all this unfolding axtion in the castle, the best part of this episode will most certainly be Greer’s wedding to Lord Castelroy. Even if it doesn’t go as planned. The synopsis does reveal, “Greer learns that Castleroy is close to converting to Protestantism, but she accepts this and the pair are wed.” However, Bash and Leith discover that Greer’s seemingly perfect soon-to-be husband is harboring another secret, one that may truly affect Greer if she goes through with the wedding. A new sneak peek video from E! News reveals that Leith may actually interrupt and stop the wedding by exposing Lord Castleroy and his secrets!
