Pad Thai is a popular noodle dish that features Thai rice noodles cooked in a savory peanut sauce and is usually garnished with tofu or a meat. This recipe by Chef James Tahhan is a shrimp Pad Thai that also has tofu and vegetables. The best part is, you can modify the meat and veggies to make a variation that suits your palette.
Ingredients
1 egg
4 tablespoons fish sauce
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 tablespoon whole red pepper
1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 shallot
1/2 package Thai rice noodles (Thai rice noodles)
1/4 cup extra firm tofu
2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
1/2 pound of jumbo shrimp
1/2 cup of beans Chinese
1/2 cup chives
2 tablespoons crushed unsalted peanuts
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon soy sauce
Directions
Cook the noodles according to package directions and leave aside.
In a skillet brown them tofu until well sealed and leave aside.
In a wok or pan hot, add the peanuts until well toasted and we set aside, then add oil, and fry the shallots, garlic, tofu, shrimp and ginger until they begin to brown. Then add the noodles and continue to saute, add the sugar, fish sauce, red pepper, soya. then pushed all the ingredients to the side of the wok and add egg, once it begins to cook the mix with the other ingredients.
garnish with chives, peanuts and serve.
