Rebecca Jones was arrested and forced to serve a 24-hour sentence in the infamous "torito" for failing to pass an alcohol limit test. The 56-year-old actress was behind the wheel when she went through a sobriety checkpoint, according to Reforma. Authorities in Mexico City have been enforcing the "Conduce Sin Alcohol" ("Don't Drink And Drive") initiative which are placed randomly in different sites since last Wednesday and throughout the weekend. Jones voluntarily showed up to her date in jail and was given the minimum sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol. Jones joins other celebrities like Fabián Lavalle, Gloria Calzada, Sergio Sendel and Ari Borovoy who have had to serve time for being naughty and endangering civilian lives behind the wheel.

The Mexican actress was currently starring in the adaptation of play "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time" where she shared the staged with her former husband Alejandro Camacho, Cecilia Suarez and Luis Gerardo Méndez. Jones recently announced she was leaving to undergo surgery that she had been postponing for some time and didn't rule out come back to reprise her role. "God willing I will be back in April. I will undergo surgery, they are things we have to do, sooner or later in life. We don't do them because we don't have time, but I will do it now," Rebecca told El Diario. Mónica Dionne will take on her role in the play based on Mark Haddon's mystery novel.

Rebecca Jones has been absent from the small screen since completing production of "Pasión Prohibida" in Miami in 2013. In this melodrama, Jones played a seductive and manipulative woman that forces her daughter to marry an ailing man to inherit his millions. As time goes by she start seeing things more clearly and reforms while her daughter continues on the path of harming those around her. The Telemundo telenovela is currently airing in México where Jones resides.
