Reason Gwen Stefani Reportedly Struggles With Co-Parenting Kids With Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have been reportedly struggling with their parenting setup as of late. Stefani and Rossdale’s marriage in 2002 gifted them with three children: 12-year-old Kingston, 10-year-old Zuma and 5-year-old Apollo. After their separation in 2015, the two agreed to implement a co-parenting setup for raising their kids.

Although both parents are present in the boys’ lives, things have not been easy for the separated couple. The two singers have maintained minimal communication with each other, contacting one another only when necessary. This has proven to be a challenge for both parties, especially when it comes to deciding for the kids.

“Gwen and Gavin have had a challenging time co-parenting,” a source told Hollywood Life. “They don’t see eye to eye on several things.”

“Gwen and Gavin really don’t speak that much unless they need to,” the source shared. “No matter what though, they always put their kids first, they just don’t agree on most things, but what exes do?”

The co-parenting setup seems more taxing on Stefani, who reportedly feels like Rossdale doesn’t help her make decisions about their kids. Although she understands that he is a “great” father, she reportedly “wishes” more help from her ex-partner in terms of the boys’ schooling and schedules. Reportedly, the “super mom” has to constantly call the shots for the three without Gavin’s help.

“She knows Gavin is a great dad when he’s with the kids, she just wishes she’d get a little more help when it comes to school, schedules, etc.,” the source from Hollywood Life added. “She gets frustrated and overwhelmed with it all sometimes as Gavin sometimes finds it challenging to balance career and kids,” he concluded.

In the meantime, Blake Shelton — whom Stefani is reportedly dating — has been a breath of fresh air for the singer in her current struggles. After officially dating his “The Voice” co-star, Shelton has been assisting Stefani with her motherly duties. “Blake has been so helpful with the kids and truly cares for them and is always there with an ear to listen and support Gwen as she deals with Gavin and issues that arise from co-parenting,” said a source.

Shelton has been spending a lot of time with Stefani and her kids, often going to his ranch in order to relax. Apart from “getting muddy” with ATVs and cooking their meals, the 42-year-old singer regularly plays basketball and goes hiking and hunting with the three boys. Per reports, Rossdale is appreciative of Shelton’s attention toward the kids and his attempts to remain close to them.

“Gavin appreciates that Blake is a great guy and he knows how much the boys enjoy fishing and doing country things with Blake, things that Gavin would not or could not do with them, so Gavin understands,” said Hollywood Life’s insider.
