Baltimore Ravens star running back Raymell "Ray" Rice is used to having people invade his personal space, but usually only on the football field. Sometime overnight Friday, Rice's home in Reistertown, Md. was broken into by a suspect who was later caught on camera but remains unidentified.
The robber stole two of Rice's guns and approximately $2000 in cash after entering Rice's home through a back window.
Corporal Cathleen Batton of the Baltimore County Police said that the running back was not home at the time of the incident, but that a friend of Rice's was lodging there while Rice was out. The friend called police on Saturday morning.
Rice told USA Today in a statement that he and his family are safe, calling the robbery an "unfortunate incident" that he too is investigating. The Westchester County, N.Y. native is still set to return to the Ravens' starting lineup this September.
