Daniella Weiss, an Israeli settler in the West Bank who proudly espoused extremist views in a new BBC documentary, has been branded "pure evil" by viewers; yet, in a twist of irony, Israel nominated her for a Nobel Peace Prize just last month.
Leading British journalist Louis Theroux's latest documentary, "The Settlers," takes a critical look at the nearly 700,000 Israelis intent on settling the Israeli-occupied West Bank, home to approximately 2.8 million Palestinians. Weiss, the "godmother" of the settler movement, is featured and was condemned for her genocidal views.
In addition to admitting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants Israeli settlers to take over Gaza (Zionists have killed more than 52,000 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children, since Oct. 7, 2023), in the documentary, Weiss outlined the nation's plans to take over the West Bank. When Theroux pointed out that, under the Geneva Convention, "transferring a civilian population into a conquered terrain" is considered a war crime, Weiss laughed and called it "a light felony." (The UN-backed International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza in November 2024.)
"We do for governments what they cannot do for themselves," she said, before adding Netanyahu is happy about settlers' plans to take over the West Bank and Gaza but he can't say so.
Elsewhere, Theroux asked Weiss whether only caring about the safety and livelihood of Israeli children is sociopathic, to which she replies, "not at all." Weiss also claimed settlers do not wake up and choose violence before pushing Theroux to goad him into retaliating, which he refused to do, as seen in a clip circulating on X.

Previously, Weiss said during a conference on Israel's frontier in 2024 that Israelis went to the Middle East "with one clear purpose: the purpose is to settle the entire Gaza Strip, not just part of it, not just a few settlements, the entire Gaza Strip from north to south," Middle East Eye reported.
Viewers were stunned to learn two Israeli professors nominated Weiss for a Nobel Peace Prize considering the penchant for violence she displayed throughout the film.
"Some Zionists in Israel thought it to be a good idea to nominate this woman, Daniella Weiss for a Nobel Peace Prize - that is [one] hell of a way to tell the world what you value, and it's not humanity. Illegal settlements are war crimes," X user @Captain_Chaos_X wrote.

"It's quite frightening, not that someone as deranged as her exists in a genocidal settler colonial apartheid state, but that she doesn't even need to hide any of her plans from the public. That she gets to execute them in real time with unchallenged impunity while the world is spectating like there's nothing anyone can do," a Redditor commented.
