So much hype around this PS4 Livestream event it's almost unbearable, almost. GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley hopped onto Twitter yesterday to confirm that this week's PlayStation 4 launch livestream will play host to the first footage from "The Last of Us" hotly anticipated single player expansion. And now Keighley has confirmed that the 60-minute broadcast will include a look behind-the-scenes at Sony's top-secret new research and development lab. "Thursday, meet the minds behind PlayStation's top-secret new R&D lab. See where they are taking PS4 next. #PS4ALLACCESS," the popular Canadian journalist teased on Twitter.
Given the recent slew of rumors regarding a myserious hypothetical headset for the next generation PS4 console, it is likely that that it could pop up during the show. Other speculation suggested that Sony wanted to keep the accessory hidden until after the system's launch, so perhaps it doesn't makes sense to reveal it right on the eve of the device's release. Other possibilities include a glimpse at Gaikai, which is poised to deploy early next year in North America. The event is also speculated to disucss next-gen games as well as show off some of the PlayStation 4's features.
PlayStation and Spike TV have joined forces to host the live PS4 All Access: Greatness Awaits launch event! The event will be live in New York City on November 14 starting at 11:00pm Eastern Time/Pacific Time on regular cable providers; and 11pm Eastern Time/8pm Pacific Time on DirecTV and streaming. Sony suggest gamers should tune in to see exclusive world premieres and announcements about the PS4 games that will define 2014 and beyond.
