Princess Eugenie will be launching "Floodlight" podcast with Anti-Slavery Collective, she confirmed on Instagram Wednesday.
Eugenie is said to be inspired by her cousin-in-law Meghan Markle as the Duchess of Sussex is also preparing to release her own much-awaited podcast channel, Archetypes, later this summer, almost two years after she and Prince Harry signed their Spotify deal. Meghan revealed her first Spotify series, which tackles female stereotypes, trying to investigate and put more thoughts on "labels that try to hold women back."
The 33-year-old royal announced her charity's new podcast, titled "Floodlight." She will host a weekly show with co-founder Julia de Boinville. The podcast aims to speak to "guests from all walks of life' helping to combat modern slavery." Eugenie recalled her first learning about modern slavery during a trip to Kolkata, India with Julia in 2012.
"My charity, @the_anti_slavery_collective is delighted to announce its new podcast, Floodlight," she wrote. "Join me, and my co-founder, Julia de Boinville each week as we sit down with guests from all walks of life who are helping to combat modern slavery in a variety of ways."
"From lawmakers and company leaders to famous activists, survivors and journalists, Floodlight shows you just how prominent modern slavery is and that we can all do something about it," Eugenie added in the caption.
"We want to thank all our guests for joining us, as well as @stakpod for making this project come to life. It is available anywhere you listen to podcasts, just search Floodlight or follow the link in my bio to listen now!"
The podcast is created to promote her charity, the Anti-Slavery Collective, which she and her best-friend Julia founded in 2017. The pair is expected to interview and discuss slavery topics with known personalities involved in the fight against modern slavery, including Dame Emma Thompson. Their podcast's first guest is Caroline Haughey QC, who prosecuted the most significant modern slavery trial case in the history of the United Kingdom.
Eugenie's charity has the mission to raise awareness in order to eradicate slavery. They reportedly partnered with award-winning independent podcast network Stakpod to create the episodes.
